Staying on Navarre Beach in the fall has its perks.
Number one, there are fewer tourists so that means less crowded beaches.
Number two, the weather is beautiful – not too hot, not too humid, just right.
Number three, there are numerous fun fall festivities in our area, thanks to Beaches to Woodlands.
One of those exciting events happening almost every weekend of October is the annual Boo at the Zoo.
Children of all ages and the young at heart dress up in their cutest Halloween costumes at the Gulf Breeze Zoo and get to trick or treat with the animals. A variety of vendors set up booths along a trick or treat trail through the zoo’s many animal exhibits each weekend. Children have a chance to touch some of the critters, as well as feathers, bones and other items.
Vendors vary from an art studio and music school to kettle corn and hair bows.
Gulf Breeze Zoo’s Boo at the Zoo festival includes Halloween entertainment and kid-friendly fun around every corner. Come explore the trick-or-treat trail complete with candy, treats and toys, bounce houses, face painting, and of course the Ambassador Animal Headquarters, where you can meet the animals up close and personal.
The trick or treat trail has been expanded to incorporate social distancing and CDC guidelines this year.
Tickets must be pre-purchased this year in order to comply with these recommendations to ensure a safe, fun environment for everyone. The prices are as follows and include admission to the zoo for the whole day.
Adventure Adult – $22.95
Adventure Child – $17.95
Adventure Senior – $21.95
This Halloween extravaganza continues through the rest of the weekends in October from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on October 17,18, 24, 25 and 31.
